State Farm Grant

Jan Hewitt, local State Farm agent, has been a longtime supporter of Philip High School staff and students.  She has been part of the school's Internship program over the last 20 years.  Currently, PHS senior Allison William's is the State Farm intern/student worker. When grant money came available through State Farm, Jan took the opportunity to recommend the Philip Family and Consumer Sciences classroom for that grant application.  The grant was awarded on November 2 in the amount of $2000 and will be used for equipment in the FACS classroom at Philip High School. "This grant will make a big difference for my classroom and my students!  Jan has been an amazing resource for the Internship program, and the students she has mentored.  This is not the first grant State Farm has given the FACS program because of Jan's involvement.  The current Scottie mascot is just one item State Farm grants have helped purchase. Thank you, Jan and State Farm!," stated Brigitte Brucklacher, Philip FACS teacher.
